Katie believes in the integration of acupuncture, acupressure, and alternative therapies for overall health. As a practitioner, her philosophy is that health is a state of wellness, not just the absence of disease. With nearly two decades experience in complementary and alternative medicine, she is currently offering her professional guidance and expertise through virtual wellness visits from the convenience of home. She has established practices in Northampton, MA and the region. Katie works as an acupuncturist for students at Smith College and as an integrative health specialist and acupuncturist for patients at Mass General Cancer Center at Cooley Dickinson Hospital. She also maintains an independent practice providing acupuncture and wellness home visits throughout the community. She is known to provide simple, effective, and powerful treatments for a variety of ailments.
She has a special interest in communicating information about alternative lifestyles and therapies through writing and is constantly on a mission to further her education. She believes in food as medicine and takes pride in investing in local, organic, and non-toxic products. She believes in making mindful consumer and lifestyle choices (related to exercise, meditation, green living, and the like) for the sake of her family, the community, the environment, and humanity at large.
Katie also has a special interest in herbal remedies, and received a Certificate in Herbal Medicine, Boston School of Herbal Studies (2011). She is licensed in the state of Massachusetts by the Board of Registration in Medicine, has a Master of Acupuncture (M.Ac.), New England School of Acupuncture (now affiliated with MCPHS University) (2011) and a Master of Pain, Research, Education and Policy (MS), Tufts University School of Medicine (2011).
